Finally, a Post!

Hey!

Aren't you so excited to see our name on the New Post list! I know I am always happy to see new postings by all of you!

We have been up to LOTS recently, so I apologize for being such a blog procrastinator. I have some new pictures of what we have been doing--mostly around the house. We've painted, bought new furniture and more.

Here are the lovely people that helped us paint the living room! Big thanks to Dad, Spencer, Beth, Josiah, Stephen, Mike and Angela!

Bye bye creamy yellow and aged off-white!

So there you go. A few months summed up in some pictures. One more BIG piece of news:

TIM AND I ARE GETTING A PUPPY! He is expected to arrive at our house January 8th as a big 6wk old little guy. He is a Doberman Pincher born on Thanksgiving day! He is exactly 12 days old right now! We are too excited. I wish he was here RIGHT NOW!

Well thanks for being my blogging friend and I hope to hear from all of you soon.

Hi

Poor blogging people . . .

I will be reconnecting with you soon, but as of now, I am knee deep in summer school and trying to dig my way out!

Thanks for being patient!

I'm Annoyed.

Thought I would vent through my blog.

I am annoyed at how terrible our society has become. For example, I keep seeing people's engagements on facebook. Not the pictures after they have become engaged, but the pictures of the man asking the woman to marry him. Hello, this is such a private, precious moment and it is ruined by cameras. It's like we live our lives now to be in pictures to show everyone else. Sorry, but I guess I'm an old fashioned girl who still believes that marriage, love, and romance is sacred.

Ahh, I feel better now. Thanks.

The week

What a week it has been.

I started a new job on Monday at the Midland Women's clinic. It has been going really great. I was loving life until Tuesday afternoon when my throat started feeling scratchy and my nose started running. It went down hill from there. Wednesday morning I felt terrible and finally took my temperature around 10 at work. It was almost 100. I decided it was best to stay home after lunch and take a nap. So of course today, Thursday, from 8-12 is the first day of my summer school class and I missed it in hopes that sleeping in a bit will get me through the afternoon at work. But don't worry, I am on antibiotics now and will hopefully get to feeling better. I can't believe I missed 1/2 a day at work and a day of summer school all in the first week of both! Ahh! I hope this doesn't keep up.

Tim is still loving life at CSI--no he is not a crime solver! They actually had a big cookout today so he got a free steak lunch. What's not to love about that?

Little Jinx is great. She is enjoying the hot days inside and the cooler nights outside. It's a nice break because she used to sleep inside with us at night and she'd wake me up a couple times. Now I can sleep soundly unless my dripping nose wakes me up first.

Enjoy the coming weekend!

4th

We had a great time this week at the lake with some family friends.

I drove down with my parents on Friday and we stopped at some neat shops along the way. Tim, Spencer and Josiah drove down Saturday to join up with the group. We stayed with my "second parents" at their lake house-David and Elaine Miller who were our neighbors in Abilene and have 2 boys Spencer's age. They practically helped raise me and I love them to death! We had a great time skiing, tubing and just cruising around. We taught Josiah how to ski! He did really well getting up on only the second try. We had the roughest water most of the time so our ski runs were slightly short. I think we all fell on the waves a couple times. I am so SORE! We were also joined by my other "second parent's" the Henderson's who have a daughter my age who was my childhood best friend! Saturday night we watched lots of fireworks. It was like a panoramic view watching all the people around the lake show off their fireworks! Hopefully I will get some pics from mom soon!

Hope everyone had a great fourth!

The Beach

We spent the week in Destin, FL with family. It was one of the best vacations ever. We were super lazy and are now super tan. Woohoo! Enjoy some pictures.

Paper towels, dawn, and an oil cleaner solution. Yay! We were fortunate enough to have only one day oil minimal oil. They were only little balls that you could usually walk around. I got some on my foot though while in the water and had to use Dawn to get it off! It's weird that it won't wipe off or anything, you have to scrub it with something other than water.

Now I am ready to move to Destin.

Day 2

Day 2 began a bit later than day 1. We slept in and LOVED it. Tim hit the yard for most of the day repairing gates, mowing, spreading new grass seed/fertilizer and making it look beautiful! I went to the grocery store, made french dip sandwiches for lunch, organized my bathroom, worked on laundry, and cooked dinner for Tim, mom and I---whew! Aren't we productive!

Day 1

Day 1 of Tim's time off.

Tim is about to start a new job at CSI, but luckily is able to take some time off in between!

Tim started the day off at Stonegate helping pack up the 5th and 6th graders going to camp! Of course, I slept in :) We ate lunch together at the house then Tim began working in the yard and I headed off to Midland College to get some things in order for my summer school stuff. I came home and picked up Tim and we went to Furniture Row and bought our new dining room table! See....... (It has a butterfly leaf that isn't shown here, so it actually seats 8!)

We won't get it for a couple of weeks because they only had 4 of the 8 chairs in stock and had to order the actual table. Gosh, you'd think they keep at least 1 in the warehouse! We swung by the library on the way home (totally not on the way home but we wanted to go) and checked out some movies to occupy us this week. Next we stopped and ate at La Bodega before finally heading home to watch a movie!

It has been really awesome to have him home all day. We haven't had this much time to ourselves since our honeymoon almost a year and a half ago.

More to come tomorrow!

River

I finally floated the river.

Tim and I went to Kerrville this weekend with family and friends to float the Guadalupe in New Braunfels. We waited too late to reserve a campsite in New Braunfels, so we ended up in Kerrville at the Shriner Campgrounds--very pretty. We went to eat at a Chilis on the river on Saturday night and came back to camp and roasted marshmellows. Then, on Sunday, we drove about an hour to New Braunfels, rented our "toobs", floated for about 4 hours, ate at the Gristmill in Gruene, and headed back to camp for some more marshmellow roasting and sang Kum bay ya (ok so we didn't sing Kum bay ya, but we sang some other fun songs that our camping neighbors really appreciated). Finally, on Monday we packed up camp and drove to Fredricksburg to eat at an authentic German place and to visit one of Spencer's friends, Mr. Zenner, at his peach orchard/processing place. It was really awesome to watch--we even got two boxes of free peaches! Here are some of the few pictures I took. I really need to get a new camera AND start taking more pictures!

Patrick starting the campfire.

Spencer and his "headlight".

Hope everyone is staying cool in this miserably hot weather!
