Rainy Days

It has been raining here for a few hours off and on. It is wonderful. The smell of my blueberry coffee cakes baking in the oven make for a great living room. They are going with me to Pagosa Springs, Colorado for a small family reunion to honor my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary! Tim and I cooked some lasagnas last night to take for dinner one of the nights. Can't wait to celebrate the 4th in weather less than 90 degrees. It might be a first. For once the fireworks won't want to set themselves off. Just kidding.

I start a new job when we get home from Colorado. I will be working for Stonegate Fellowship, my church. I will mostly be hanging out on the computer entering a bunch of information from new people and kids. Just what I do best! It is only temporary of course seeing as how I go back to school the end of August. It will be strange to work near my mom. Actually it will be kinda fun.

Pray that we all have safe trips to and from CO and enjoy our time fellowshipping with our family. Also, continue to pray for Jared Eggemeyer as he is still in the hospital in Dallas. He has improved but it will be a long road to be completely well.

As always I am blessed to enjoy God's refreshing rain and the smell of good food.

Beloved Sleep

I sure do love my sleep.

I felt sleep deprived over the last weekend so I've been making up for it over the past couple nights. One of my best friends Temi Jo Thompson (now Scott) got married this weekend in Abilene. I drove up Thursday for a $29 pedicure that came off in the shower the next day. Bummer. It was lots of fun hanging out with the bride-to-be and my other Abilene friends including Brittany, Kayla, and Abbey. We successfully got the happy couple married off Saturday night followed by a big party at the Windsor Hotel full of food, cake, and dancing. Fun, fun.

Well now I spend my time watching "Little House on the Prarie" and making the occasional run to the gym--and Starbucks of course. I am currently job hunting because the hospital job fell through. They decided to demote all the nurse techs to CNA's. Not so much fun. So if anyone hears of anything through September, let me know.

Well thankfully I have caught up on my sleep and am still enjoying the life I have been given. As always I thank my heavenly Daddy for sleep, food, and a comfy matress.

It is HOT

It is so hot outside. Good thing I am cleaning my car today-inside and out.

My poor JEEP got egged last night. I don't think the people responsible were intending to egg my car, but in trying to egg the car next to me, I got the ricochets and bad aims. So after taking it to a car wash and washing it by hand, I managed to get it all off. Now I am working on the inside because it was just dirty to begin with and I am driving to Dallas tomorrow, so a clean car is always nice for road trips.

I am going to hang out with Beth Eggemeyer at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas for a few days as we wait to see what happens with Jared. It is also one of my good friend's Temi Thompson-soon to be Temi Scott's-bachelorette weekend in Dallas so hopefully I can catch up with the gang one of these days.

I passed my first of two tests this week. It is a huge weight off my shoulders to have that done. We are required in nursing school to take a test called the ATI. It somehow measures your ability to pass the NCLEX which is how you get your license. We have to take an ATI for each class. Next semster we have either two or three to take. Tomorrow, I take my Mental-Health for Nursing final and then i'm done! Kiss school good-bye and hello summer.

Please, please continue to pray for Jared. He needs many prayers now for his health, as well as wisdom from doctors. Also, his wife and family need prayer for patience and to be comforted by a loving Father. God is in control.

As always I am blessed today with life, a loving husband, and hope.

Numero Uno

The first post. Hard to think of things to write other than I am still learning how to use this. Feel free to acknowledge that as my disclaimer. Hopefully a quick lesson from Mrs. Tiland and I will be good to go.

Life is pretty good here in the steaming hot desert of Midland. Tim and I enjoy spending our evenings indoors so as not to get heat stroke in the 101 degree weather. I am in my last week of never ending summer school and couldn't be happier. I have a test tomorrow, and a final on Wednesday. Going to school in the summer is not so much fun. Sure it's nice to fit a 3 hour class into a month, but that requires long days and lots of studying. I will be happy to spend my days swimming and sleeping instead of sitting in class.

Please pray for our brother-in-law Jared Eggemeyer as he continues to fight some kind of mysterious illness. He is currently in Dallas with a team of knowledgeable doctors hopefully finding answers. Also pray for his wife, Elizabeth that she have patience and know that God is in control of their lives.

I thank God for another day and pray that tomorrow I can serve Him again,
